Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to manage patients under medical or surgical care. You will lead nursing staff, assess patient needs, and coordinate care in alignment with hospital policies and the patient-centered care philosophy.

The role requires clinical leadership, adherence to the Compliance Program, and flexible working hours including weekends or on-call shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care.
• Maintain current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, NRP and fetal monitoring certifications as required.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Provide safe, competent nursing care and lead the healthcare team.
• Assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care in line with policies and philosophy.
• Oversee nursing staff under supervision and coordinate with other departments.
• Uphold Service Excellence standards at all times.
