Qualifications

• Minimum education: graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Minimum experience: 2 years clinical nursing practice.
• Preferred experience: 2 years adults teaching; lactation experience.
• Required licensure: Texas RN license.
• Preferred lactation certification within 1 year of employment.
• Must have BLS prior to hire or within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides breastfeeding education and consultation to patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provides staff development guidance for lactation education instructors.
• Completes competencies within introductory period; performs related duties as assigned.
