Piedmont Walton Hospital is seeking a dedicated staff nurse for its Labor & Delivery team. The unit handles 30-40 deliveries each month, with an integrated OR and PACU to support a wide range of obstetric care, from triage to postpartum and newborn care.

Responsibilities include delivering compassionate patient-centered care and coordinating nursing activities across the unit. Minimum education is nursing school graduate with GA licensure; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Coordinate patient care activities and ensure standards of practice within organizational policies.

Our team thrives on strong prioritization, professionalism, and collaboration to provide safe, patient-centered care. Staffing ratios are thoughtfully guided by patient acuity and volume: 1:1 in active labor and OR/recovery, 2:1 for patients on magnesium therapy, and 3:1 for couplet care. These ratios reflect our commitment to maintaining the highest standards while adjusting to clinical realities as needed.

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
