Job summary

Qualifications

• Night shift availability and 13-week contract.

Responsibilities

• Manage labor, circulate cesarean sections, and resuscitate newborns.
• Triage patients and monitor labor progress per unit guidelines.
• Provide care across Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum beds.
• Float within the region and travel between facilities as needed.
• Weekend rotations every other week and 75% holiday coverage.
• Pitocin and epidural management as required.

Description:We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery/Postpartum.The unit consists of 10 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum beds, 2 OB beds, and 2 Triage beds.The average patient census is 7 per day.Patient ratios are based on AWHONN Staffing Guidelines: 1:2 for inactive labor, 1:1 for active labor, and 1:3-4 for couplets.Nurses will have dedicated support from scrub techs for laboring patients.The nursing team is expected to manage labor, circulate cesarean sections, perform triage, and resuscitate newborns.Required skills include Pitocin management and epidural management.Nurses will float within their region and scope of practice as needed and will be compensated for travel time between facilities.There will be a weekend rotation every other week and a requirement to work 75% of holidays.Approved time off can be requested for up to 6 days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the contract duration if not fulfilled.A positive, family-oriented unit culture is emphasized.
