Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus is seeking an Interventional Radiology RN to support patients during minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures. You will assist with monitoring, sedation, and coordinated care for a broad range of vascular and non‑vascular interventions.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and at least one year of RN experience, with 10‑hour shifts from 7a–5:30p, Monday to Friday, plus weekend on‑call every 10–12 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN).
  • Current state licensure as an RN.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
  • One year of RN experience; LPN substitution accepted in some cases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.

Interventional Radiology RN

Supports patients during minimally invasive, image‑guided vascular and non‑vascular procedures involving the body from the neck down. This area performs a wide range of procedures including central line placement, angiograms, angioplasty/stenting, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, embolization, drain placements, biliary and nephrostomy interventions, and tumor‑directed therapies. The RN provides procedural nursing support, assists with patient monitoring during procedures, administers and monitors sedation as appropriate, supports the physician and procedural team, and responds to changes in patient condition during moderate‑to‑high‑acuity cases. ED, PACU, or Critical Care experience is preferred, though other relevant RN experience will be considered.

Schedule

A caregiver in this position works 7a-5:30p (10‑hour shifts) M‑F.

Weekend on‑call coverage every 10‑12 weeks

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • *In areas performing moderate sedation procedures must have current
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within 6 months of hire
  • One year of recent experience as an RN
  • OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • ICU or other critical care experience
Physical Requirements
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
