Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for UMMS Staffing to deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care across inpatient and ambulatory settings. Deployed to units based on need, you will work within Maryland Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies, collaborating with the care team to ensure continuity and quality.

You will maintain licensure, certifications, and unit competencies, participate in education and quality initiatives, and support staffing needs

Qualifications

• Current Maryland RN license or eligibility via the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Active BLS certification is required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP and NIHSS may be required depending on unit competencies.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to unit acuity.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care in the EMR.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote safety and quality.
• Safely administer medications and use clinical equipment per policy.
• Delegate and supervise nursing activities within competency levels.
• Maintain professional development and comply with licensure requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
