Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for UMMS Staffing (USC) in Maryland. The RN will be deployed to clinical units based on need, delivering safe, evidence-based care across inpatient, procedural, surgical, and ambulatory settings.

Responsibilities include independent assessments, interventions, and EMR documentation, with collaboration across the interdisciplinary team to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland RN license or eligibility via compact.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Unit-specific certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS) as needed.
• Minimum of two years of acute care nursing in the last 12 months.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care based on patient needs and acuity.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents in the EMR.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality.
• Administers medications and uses clinical equipment per policy.
• Delegates and supervises nursing tasks within competency levels.
• Maintains licensure, certifications, and ongoing professional development.
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
