Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System seeks a Clinical Nurse for UMMS Staffing. The RN will provide patient- and family-centered care across inpatient and ambulatory settings, deployed to units based on need and validated competencies.

Adherence to Maryland Nurse Practice Act and policies is required. The role emphasizes collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, documentation in EMR, safe med administration, and ongoing competency validation.

Qualifications

• Current and active RN license in the State of Maryland or eligibility through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Unit-specific competencies may require ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIHSS.
• Minimum of two years of recent acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care appropriate to patient population and acuity.
• Independently performs comprehensive patient assessments and documents care in EMR.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team to promote safety and quality.
• Safely administers medications and uses clinical equipment per policy.
• Delegates and supervises nursing care activities within competency levels.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Education

RN license (Maryland or NLC)

Bachelor's degree in Nursing
