Job summary

Apple Rehab is seeking an experienced RN Infection Preventionist & Staff Development Coordinator to lead infection control programs and staff education within our long-term care facility.

The ideal candidate will have an active RN license, infection prevention knowledge, and the ability to supervise staff while coordinating training and surveillance activities. CMS Mega Rule wound care certification is preferred, and a collaborative Nursing Services team will support ongoing quality care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current state RN license and be in good standing.
• Wound care certification preferred per CMS Mega Rule.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care facilities.
• Knowledge of infection control, OSHA regulations, and long-term care guidelines.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others; strong teamwork.
• Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate new hire orientation and ongoing training for all personnel.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention programs; monitor compliance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and professionals to educate staff on infection prevention.
• Prepare reports for quarterly medical staff meetings.
• Monitor infections; track outbreaks; oversee IV and antibiotic usage; wound care.
• Provide direct nursing care as needed by the Nursing Services Department.
