Job summary

Regal Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Hockessin, Delaware, seeks an experienced RN Infection Preventionist to lead our IP program, analyze outbreaks, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will partner with staff to promote best practices and oversee environmental inspections while maintaining daily reporting in DelVax.

This role emphasizes collaboration, staff education, and participation in surveys by regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Must be an RN with an active Delaware license.
• Infection prevention certification preferred or willingness to attain.
• Three years of healthcare or infection control experience preferred.
• Familiarity with PCC and ability to learn and manage infection control software.

Responsibilities

• Follow new admissions and residents for documentation of vaccines (PPD, flu, pneumonia).
• Conduct facility infection surveillance, monitoring, and reporting.
• Oversee COVID infection prevention including testing, reporting and immunization.
• Document COVID information into DelVax.
• Support educational programs to promote infection prevention and assist with in-services.

Regal Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is a 172 bed skilled nursing facility nestled in beautiful Hockessin, Delaware. We are currently seeking an experienced RN Infection Preventionist to join our nursing team!

Negotiable Salary!

This position is responsible for policy and program development, standards interpretation and regulatory analysis, epidemiology and outbreak analysis. Leadership of and/or participation in work groups or committees as required for IP program success. Employee Health related to employee infections/immunizations/prophylaxis. Active participation in environmental inspections, continuing education and in-services. Collaborates and partners with Staff Development to facilitate and promote performance improvement in Infection Control. Plays an active role during surveys and inspections by regulatory agencies. Maintains entries into DelVax system and completes all daily and weekly reporting requirements.

Job Responsibilites:

• Follow new admissions and current residents on proper documentation of PPD, FLU, pneumonia vaccinations.
• Flu clinics for residents and staff.
• Conduct facility infection surveillance, monitoring, and reporting.
• Oversee all components of COVID infection prevention including testing, reporting and resident and staff immunization.
• Document COVID information into Delvax.
• Support educational programs to promote infection prevention measures across the system and assist with facility in-services.
• Manage the antibiotic stewardship documentation.
• Antibiotic line list.
• Keep abreast of any new CDC warnings or regulations to COVID or any other potential diseases.
• On call rotation.

Qualifications:

• Must be a RN with an active Delaware License.
• Completion of an Infection Prevention Certification course preferred or willingness to attain an Infection Preventionist certification.
• Three years previous experience in health care or infection control preferred.
• Familiarity with PCC and an ability to learn and independently manage specialized infection control software.
• An ability to work well with people in order to facilitate changes that prevent or control infection is required.
