Job summary

Wilmington Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, DE is seeking an RN Infection Preventionist to join our team and lead the center's infection prevention program. You will work with staff, patients, and providers to implement program objectives aligned with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and other guidelines.

The role requires active Delaware RN licensure (LPN considered with relevant experience), strong leadership, exceptional communication, and good organizational skills to operate in a team-driven

Responsibilities

• Conduct compliance audits; provide supervision and training as necessary.
• Implement action plans to resolve deficient practices.
• Perform infection control rounds and record findings.
• Collect and analyze infection surveillance information.
• Ensure transmission-based precautions are initiated and communicated.
• Coordinate and manage vaccine programs for patients and employees.
• Attend orientation, training, and in-service programs.
• Perform other duties to provide exceptional resident care.

Wilmington Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, DE is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team in the role of RN Infection Preventionist.

The RN Infection Preventionist works directly with all employees, patients, and providers to fully implement all aspects of the healthcare center’s Infection Prevention and Control Program. This program aligns with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), and other federal and state guidelines for skilled nursing and long-term care providers.

What You’ll Do

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly infection control rounds and accurately record findings.

• Ensure transmission-based precautions are initiated, implemented, and communicated effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate and manage vaccine programs for patients and employees.
• Conduct, attend, and participate in orientation, training, and in-service programs.
• Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident.

What You Need

• Active unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Delaware preferred.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may be considered based on experience.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
