Johns Hopkins Medicine's Inpatient/Outpatient Oncology Program (IPOP) Clinic seeks a registered nurse to provide patient-centered care for oncology patients transitioning between hospital and home-based settings. The role emphasizes coordination with a trained caregiver model and management of complex cancer treatments.

Requirements include a BSN, Maryland or Compact RN license, BLS CPR, and at least 2 years of oncology nursing experience.

Qualifications

  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required.
  • BLS CPR certification required.
  • 2 years RN oncology experience required.
  • Associate's degree in nursing may be accepted if enrolled in BSN/MSN program within 1 year and completes degree within 4 years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated nursing care to oncology patients in the IPOP Clinic.
  • Support transition of care from hospital to home when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with RNs and multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Job Details:

TheInpatient/Outpatient Oncology Program (IPOP) Clinicis a patient-focused health care delivery model that helps critically ill cancer patients undergoing bone marrow transplant or other cancer treatments transfer their care from the hospital to nearby homelike setting if their condition allows. Patients participating in many differentbone marrow transplantor research protocols come to the IPOP clinic each day for care and spend their nights in residential living facilities-or in their own homes-with a family member or close friend extensively trained by IPOP Registered Nurses (RNs) to serve as their personal caregiver. If patients have complications like fevers, organ dysfunction and graft-versus-host disease, they are admitted to the hospital.

Qualifications:

  • BSN required
  • Applicants with an Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered, provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of hire
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required
  • 2 years RN work experience in oncology required
