Job summary

Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia is recruiting an RN II for the Admissions Office/Float to provide professional nursing coverage and rotate to inpatient units as needed. You will complete the nursing admission process, administer medications, and develop individualized care plans within a recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed framework.

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with Virginia license.
Experience in psychiatric nursing.
Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff.
BLS certification and ongoing competency requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice.
Lead and mentor nursing staff, coach, and provide performance feedback.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in performance improvement activities.
Monitor safety and maintain a therapeutic environment on assigned units.
