Job summary

Western State Hospital is seeking an RN II for the Admissions Office/Float to provide professional nursing coverage and hospital‑wide float support as needed. You will manage admissions, develop care plans, administer medications, and respond to emergencies while coordinating with the scheduling office and units.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership, and effective communication to support a trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented approach within a 24/7 psychiatric setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff.
• Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Ability to work overtime due to staffing emergencies.
• Complete all annual competency training including TOVA III with physical restraints.
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using nursing processes and evidence‑based practices.
• Administer medications and treatments and document care.
• Coordinate staff assignments and respond to emergencies.
• Support recovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed care.
