Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU in Olympia, Washington for a 13-week contract. This night-shift position requires clinical excellence and the ability to work independently within a high-acuity unit.

Responsibilities include ventilator management, critical care monitoring, and collaboration with physician teams. EPIC is used for documentation; nursing staff may float to related units as needed. Active RN license and BLS/ACLS are required; CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Scheduled for 3 nights per week, with weekend requirements (every other weekend). Shift hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Description

The Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) treats high acuity neuro patients as well as general ICU patients, including those with sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, GIB, and COVID. The unit is equipped with ventilators, external ventricular drains (EVDs), and other specialized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor high acuity neuro patients and ICU patients
• Float to similar units such as PCU, MS/Tele, and MS Neuro as needed
• Utilize EPIC for documentation and patient management
• Perform ventilator management and other advanced nursing procedures
• Report patient status to physician teams and make decisions based on assessment

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Neuro ICU or similar critical care setting
• Ability to float between units as necessary

Certifications/Licensure

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification preferred
• Active valid RN license required
