Job summary

A healthcare staffing agency is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Durham, North Carolina, to ensure quality patient care by implementing nursing care plans and supervising staff. Responsibilities include conducting nursing assessments, collaborating on care plans, accurate documentation, and training personnel. Required qualifications include BLS and ACLS certifications and at least two years of bedside clinical experience. Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to develop individualized care plans.
  • Document all assessments and patient responses accurately.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs focused on education.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status for continuity of care.
  • Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks to meet patient needs effectively.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested.

Job description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety in all operations.   • Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs with a focus on education for patients and families.
  • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide necessary patient teaching.
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
  • Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks to meet patient needs effectively.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
