Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a qualified RN for an ICU assignment on a 13-week contract. You will provide direct, individualized nursing care to critically ill patients during night shifts, coordinating with physicians and the care team to implement care plans.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience, a valid nursing license for the practice state (or a nurse licensure compact), and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Description:Critical Care Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.In addition to general nursing care, responsibilities include consulting and coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.They prepare and administer medications and record prescribed medications.Adverse reactions to medications or treatments are reported in accordance with policy.They provide basic bedside care.The nurse initiates patient education plans as prescribed by a physician.Patients are taught how to manage their illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs, diet, nutrition, exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and rehabilitation.Nurses record patients' medical information and vital signs.They order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.Samples for lab work are taken, and prescribed lab work is ordered and evaluated.Equipment is prepared, and assistance is provided to physicians during examinations and treatments.Life-saving situations are responded to based on nursing standards and protocols.All care information is recorded concisely, accurately, and completely in a timely manner.Nurses apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy, and IV protocols.Specialized equipment used on patients is monitored and adjusted, and electronic displays are interpreted and recorded.Catheters, leads, and tubing are monitored for proper placement and functioning.Corrective action is initiated whenever monitoring/life support equipment indicates adverse symptoms.
