Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Texas Behavioral Health Center in Dallas seeks an RN Charge Nurse to lead nursing operations, coordinate staffing, and ensure high-quality patient care. The role involves supervising staff, preparing shift reports, and collaborating with hospital leadership to optimize resources.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN with 3–5 years RN experience, Texas RN license (or NLC) with BLS, and CPI training within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• 3–5 years RN experience required.
• Current Texas RN license or Nursing Licensure Compact with BLS and CPI training within 30 days of hire.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and act as liaison between hospital leadership and nursing staff.
• Prepare and analyze shift reports including staffing and census data.
• Oversee staffing assignments and manage temporary labor to ensure adequate coverage.
• Supervise nursing care across the hospital and resolve staffing issues.
• Ensure compliance with policies, ethics, and patient safety standards.
• Respond to emergencies per hospital policy and coordinate with teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
