Job summary

Endeavor Health seeks an RN House Operations Administrator for Elmhurst Hospital on a per diem night shift (7pm–7am). The HOA leads hospital-wide clinical and operational activities in the absence of senior leadership, directing patient flow, staffing, safety, and emergency response.

The role executes real-time decisions to ensure safe, high-quality patient care, coordinating with leaders across departments and maintaining situational awareness of capacity and acuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree Nursing is required.
• Masters in Nursing or Health Administration preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive nursing experience with leadership.
• At least 1 year in a critical care or high-acuity setting preferred.
• RN license in Illinois (IDFPR) required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or within 90 days.
• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Exercices independent judgment as house-wide supervisory authority during assigned shifts when senior leadership is not on site.
• Directs real-time shift-based clinical and operational activity, including patient flow, staffing deployment, resource allocation, and high-risk situations.
• Provides coaching and feedback to support team development and performance.
• Coordinates with HR and department leadership for performance review or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Keeps hospital leadership informed of significant clinical, operational, or safety events requiring escalation.
• Oversees staffing and resource allocation to maintain patient safety and care quality.
