Job summary

Swedish Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL seeks an RN House Operations Administrator (HOA) to lead hospital-wide clinical operations during non-Executive on-site coverage. You will supervise clinical staff, direct patient flow, and coordinate with leaders to maintain safe, high-quality care.

The HOA acts as the central decision-maker for real-time operations, ensuring resource availability and capacity management while aligning with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree Nursing Required.
• Masters Degree Nursing Preferred.
• Masters Degree Health Administration Preferred.
• 3 Years Minimum of three years of progressive nursing experience, with at least two leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Exercise independent judgment as the house-wide supervisory clinical and operational authority during assigned shifts when leadership is not on site.
• Direct real-time shift-based clinical and operational activity, including patient flow, staffing deployment, resource allocation, issue resolution, and high-risk situations.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring to Charge Nurses, Resource Team staff, and other team members to support safe hospital operations.
• Coordinate with supervisors, HR, and chain of command for performance concerns and escalation as needed.
• Lead the hospital's response to emergencies and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
