Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a registered nurse to join our care team. You will apply the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues, administer medications, document care, and continuously assess and adjust patient plans.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and patient-centered care in a dynamic hospital and clinic setting across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin; ADN required, BSN preferred, and CPR/BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
• May require department-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act.
• Documents according to standards of care.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care as prescribed by Physician and clinic policy.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
• Utilizes clinical expertise to support other units’ departments.
• Escalates patient safety and experience concerns appropriately.
• Participates in the professional nursing continuum process.
