Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a registered nurse to support hospital, home health, and oncology services across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. You will use the nursing process, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, administer medications, document care, and apply standards to improve patient outcomes.

The role requires ADN with BSN preferred, and an active RN license. CPR/BLS within 90 days is required, with unit-specific credentials as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with ADN; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in state of practice and CPR/BLS certification within 90 days.
• Certifications such as ACLS, PALS, PEARS, or NRP as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per policies and standards of care.
• Documents care according to standards of care.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Develops and executes patient plans of care as prescribed.
• Participates in department performance improvement activities and governance.
• Supports other units in patient’s longitudinal plan of care as needed.
• Prioritizes patient safety and escalates appropriately.
• Participates in the professional nursing continuum and peer review.
