Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking an RN Executive Director Specialist to join our leadership team. This role acts as the administrator on call and is responsible for the overall operation of assigned markets, including the employment of qualified hospice staff and the delivery of high-quality services across multiple sites.

The Executive Director Specialist RN will provide leadership and stability by filling in across markets, ensuring consistent compliance, quality, and patient care standards.

Qualifications

• BSN or higher degree in nursing.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in hospice or home health.
• Current California RN License.
• Experience with Medicaid/Medicare regulations and reimbursement.
• Strong understanding of hospice operations and regulatory compliance.
• Able to work independently and travel frequently.
• Effective communicator with strong decision-making and time management skills.
• Highly proficient with technology and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Administrator on record at assigned hospice agencies.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including staffing, compliance, patient services, and performance improvement.
• Drive clinical quality and ensure services meet Medicare Conditions of Participation, state hospice regulations, and Gentiva standards.
• Lead, coach, and support hospice care teams to meet patient-centered goals.
• Manage operational budgets with full P&L responsibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure smooth transitions and sustainable team performance.
• Travel 70% to 100% throughout the region to provide onsite leadership.
