The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on clinical protocols and physician orders. The RN collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and a supportive environment.

Essential Functions

  1. Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with policies and the nursing process.
  2. Conduct thorough patient assessments, document findings, and report changes in condition.
  3. Provide age-appropriate care and education based on knowledge of human development.
  4. Administer medications, monitor side effects, and document appropriately.
  5. Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
  6. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  7. Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions.
  8. Advocate for patient rights and needs in care planning.
  9. Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  10. Follow infection control protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
  11. Operate medical equipment as needed for patient care and safety.
  12. Maintain a safe environment and adhere to safety standards.
  13. Participate in audits, reviews, and compliance checks.
  14. Make responsible decisions in planning and providing care.
  15. Document patient care and education promptly and thoroughly.
  16. Engage in ongoing professional development.
  17. Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care.
