Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for the Acute Stroke Unit to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced neuro unit. The role includes night shifts with a 5k sign-on bonus and opportunities for professional growth within a leading academic medical center in Dallas.

Candidates should have BSN preferred, Texas RN license, and BLS/ACLS; NIHSS is a plus. Experience with neuro patients is favored, along with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program; Texas BON license.
• English reading/writing ability required.
• 1 year RN experience preferred; Neuro experience preferred.
• Licenses: Texas NLC/BNE and BLS; ACLS preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document nursing assessments considering age-specific criteria.
• Develop care plans with patient and family using assessment data.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Prioritize interventions and communicate changes to team.
• Ensure documentation, education, and discharge planning.
• Adhere to policies and evidence-based practice.
• Lead in patient safety and quality initiatives.
