Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an experienced RN for the Acute Stroke Unit to provide direct nursing care under supervision. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, planning, and care coordination in a fast-paced neuro-based setting.

The position requires Texas RN licensure, BLS, and experience with stroke or neuroscience patients; ACLS/NIHSS are preferred. A $5k night-shift bonus is offered, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved nursing program; must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
1 year of RN experience; Neuro patient experience preferred.
Texas BON license and BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and age-appropriate assessments for patients.
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
Document care actions accurately and communicate updates to patients, families, and the care team.
Monitor patient condition, identify changes, and escalate concerns promptly.
Provide education to patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions.
Uphold nursing standards and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
