Job summary

Summit Hospital in Show Low, AZ is seeking an Administrative Shift Coordinator (RN) to oversee patient care coordination and hospital operations. The role involves collaborating with physicians, guiding admission decisions, and mentoring staff to improve clinical and operational outcomes.

The incumbent will supervise nursing and ancillary staff, manage departmental duties when on-site, and uphold patient safety standards as a core value of Summit Healthcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Current AZ RN License (required).
• CPR/BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire date).
• ACLS certification (required within 6 months of hire date).
• PALS certification (required within 6 months of hire date).
• Minimum five years RN experience and two years in a supervisory capacity (required).

Responsibilities

• Performs one-call functions and coordinates patient admissions.
• Collaborates with physicians to determine level of care, admit status, criteria for admission and orders.
• Functions as a clinical resource person for staff; mentors and coaches.
• Collaborates with Clinical Nurse Leaders to meet unit goals and optimize outcomes.
• Liaises between departments to maximize communication and teamwork.
• Manages hospital-wide operations related to triage, overcapacity, staffing, and equipment.
• Reports quality and/or risk management concerns.
• Supports departmental duties when others are not on-site.
• Promotes Patient Safety Standards as a core value.
• Delegates and provides nursing supervision in patient care.
