Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool on a part-time basis in Illinois. This position covers days with a 24-hour work week, compensated hourly.

The RN must hold a BSN or ADN with a plan to obtain BSN within three years and be a currently licensed Illinois RN with BLS. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, timely communication of changes in condition, and collaboration with the care team to discharge planning and education for patients and

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; Illinois RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced float pool.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings.
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
• Develop and adjust care plans with measurable goals.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals as needed.
• Educate patients and families using teach-back methods.
• Ensure accurate medication reconciliation and portal information.
