Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool. This role delivers coordinated nursing care across units, collaborates with physicians and teams, and supports patient outcomes.

Float duties require adaptability, clinical knowledge, and robust communication. The position notes a $5.00 per hour float differential and opportunities for professional growth through the Clinical Ladder Program.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in applicable state and BLS certification.
• One year of acute care hospital nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and document findings.
• Develop and evaluate individualized care plans with the team.
• Administer medications and therapies per orders and policies.
• Monitor patient responses and communicate changes to providers.
• Provide leadership to nursing staff and ensure patient-centered care.
• Document in electronic medical records accurately.
