Description:This position is based in a float pool and requires flexibility to work in different units.The ICU unit consists of 20 beds with a patient ratio of 1 to 2, and may sometimes be 1 to 1.Nurses must be skilled in reading telemetry strips, as there are no monitor technicians.Common diagnoses include neurosurgery, open-heart surgery, and other critical care conditions.Candidates may be required to float to stepdown or observation units.Weekend work will be required every other weekend.Holiday shifts will be included as part of the regular rotation.Candidates must have experience with various drips and ventilators.Patients may include those with respiratory failure, sepsis, and chronic conditions.Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are essential for this role.Nurses will work in collaboration with hospitalists and intensivists who are on-call after hours.The ideal candidate should be adaptable and able to manage a variety of patient conditions.All measures must be taken to follow hospital policies and protocols.Ongoing professional development and skills validation are expected.Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
