Job summary

Salem Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full Time RN Float to support the Nursing Pool. The position floats across ED, Med Surg, and ICU, with a 12-hour night shift (7pm-7am) and a 0.9 FTE schedule, totaling 36 hours per week.

The RN will coordinate and direct patient care using the nursing process, assessing diverse age groups from newborns to seniors, and collaborating with the care team to adapt plans as needed.

Qualifications

• The RN must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and hold an Ohio Registered Nurse license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NIH certifications and EKG interpretation must be current.
• Experience or recent graduation with knowledge of the nursing process and patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct delivery of patient care using the nursing process.
• Assess ages from newborn to elderly and plan appropriate care.
• Collaborate with ED/Med Surg/ICU teams to implement and revise the plan of care.

Position: Full Time RN Float

Department: Nursing Pool. Will float in ED / Med Surg / ICU

Shift: 0.9 K 7p-7a, 12 Hour Shift, 36 hrs a week

PURPOSE

The RN is responsible for coordinating and directing the delivery of competent patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. In caring for a patient population which may include the newborn, toddler, adolescent, adult, and the elderly, the RN identifies the special needs of the patient’s age group, respective level of growth and development, and plans the care accordingly. The RN directs the implementation of the Plan of Care through performance and/or coordination of the activities of other members of the health care team. Departmental Policies and Procedures are used as the basis to prescribe nursing intervention. The RN is responsible for the evaluation of nursing care given to all patients. The RN revises the plan of care according to the needs of the patient and appropriately implements changes as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing, and must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Must maintain certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NIH, and EKG interpretation.
• Can demonstrate knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application by current work experience in health care or recent graduate from a professional school of nursing.
