Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an experienced RN First Assistant for perioperative services. You will function as an RN first assistant during operative procedures and support the perioperative continuum in collaboration with the surgical team.

Requirements include graduation from a nursing program, Georgia RN license, completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, CNOR and BLS certifications, and at least two years of perioperative RN/RNFA experience (CVOR preferred).

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing.
• Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components.
• Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience; CVOR requires three years as RN or Surgical Tech in CVOR.
• CNOR certification.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and perioperative areas.
• Act as RN First Assistant during operative and invasive procedures throughout perioperative continuum.
• May serve as RN circulator in the OR as needed.
