Job summary

Novant Health in Kernersville, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to support surgeons and the perioperative team across the operative continuum.

The RNFA will participate in procedures, maintain sterile technique, assist with tissue handling and hemostasis, and contribute to preoperative planning and postoperative care, with emphasis on patient safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• BSN required; graduate of accredited nursing program.
• CNOR certification required.
• Two years perioperative RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during operative procedures within RNFA scope.
• Provide surgical exposure using instruments and retractors.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control.
• Perform preoperative patient assessments and contribute to perioperative plan of care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, perioperative nurses and staff.
• Document care and assist with postoperative evaluation and continuity of care.

Skills

RN licensure

CNOR certification

ACLS/PALS preferred

Perioperative nursing experience

Education
