Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to support perioperative care across cardiothoracic procedures. The role includes preoperative planning, intraoperative assisting, and postoperative management under surgeon direction.

The RNFA must hold a BSN, active NC RN license, and CNOR or RNFA certification; CSFA welcomed if hired before 2/1/26. Three years of perioperative nursing experience is required.

Qualifications

• BSN required; RN licensure in NC; CNOR preferred.
• RNFA/CSFA certification required within two years of employment (or CSFA if hired prior to 2/1/26).
• Minimum of 3 years perioperative nursing experience.

Responsabilités

• Provide preoperative patient management in collaboration with health care providers.
• Intraoperative surgical first assisting and exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis and suturing.
• Postoperative patient management and discharge planning in collaboration with the perioperative team.
