Job summary

Carle Health in Lebanon, NH is seeking an experienced RN First Assist (RNFA) to support surgeons during procedures and lead perioperative care. The RNFA will independently perform perioperative assessment and postoperative evaluation, collaborating with the OR team to ensure efficient, safe operations.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license, CNOR, and RNFA certification, with 2+ years in perioperative nursing and completion of an accredited RNFA program.

Qualifications

• Current RN license and CNOR certification.
• Completion of accredited RNFA program.
• Minimum 2 years perioperative nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries.
• Prepare trays, instrumentation, and supplies for each procedure.
• Provide patient care and support.
• Administer medications.
• Scrub and circulate as needed.
• Position and prepare the patient on the operating table.
• Monitor vital signs and heart rate.
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare.
• Perform post-operative assessments and monitor for pain or complications.
• Participate in room turnover.
