Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for 36 hours per week across 3, 12-hour shifts with day or night options. You will deliver individualized nursing care to acutely ill adults on a medical-surgical unit, using a team approach for admission, transfer and discharge.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Iowa RN license or compact license.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers within six weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.
• Schedule includes 36 hours/week across 3, 12-hour shifts with day or night options.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care for acutely ill adults on a medical-surgical unit.
• Delivers safe patient handling and continuous evaluation of assigned patients.
• Collaborates with healthcare personnel to coordinate admission, transfer and discharge.
• Provides compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
