Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring RN for Evening/Weekend Care to join the Empath team. The RN provides compassionate hospice care to patients with terminal illnesses and supports families by assessing needs, coordinating care, managing symptoms, and providing education. Shift: Saturday and Sunday 10a-10p.

Coverage area is Pinellas County. Unified in empathy, we serve our communities through Full Life Care for All, a not-for-profit network offering hospice, home

Qualifications

• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Prefer one year experience in an acute or post-acute care setting.
• Preferred experience caring for terminal patients and others with life threatening illnesses.
• Must provide reliable transportation for field tasks and have auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Under physician’s orders, identify and coordinate patient/family needs and provide preventative and supportive care.
• Utilize assessment, intervention and teaching to maximize comfort and quality of life for the patient/family unit.
• Administer, monitor and document medications as prescribed by the attending physician.
• Assist with closure contact and support after a patient’s death in collaboration with IDT.

The RN provides compassionate hospice care to patients with terminal illnesses and supports their families by assessing needs, coordinating care, managing symptoms, and providing education.

Shift: Saturday and Sunday 10a-10p. Coverage area is Pinellas County.

What you’ll Do

Under physician’s orders, the nurse is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventative and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit. Utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit. Demonstrates the ability to administer, monitor and document medications as prescribed by attending physician. Following a patient’s death, assists with closure contact and support in collaboration with IDT.

What you’ll Need
