Qualifications

  • Grad of an Accredited RN Program.
  • RN license and BLS certification (within 30 days).
  • 1 year ER RN experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement and evaluate care plans.
  • Educate patients and families; document learning needs.
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly to ensure safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with ED providers, social workers and staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in improvement projects and departmental governance where applicable.

Great opportunity for experienced ER Registered Nurse looking to join a high-level professional team in a Level One Emergency Department.

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Mid- Shift - Full Time –3p-3a

Unit Summary

Busy ER in level One Trauma Hospital -Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center. Average 220 visits per day.

Our Registered Nurse (RN) staff are proficient in Stroke and STEMI activations and established care guidelines

This is a fast-paced ER environment whose success is dependent on teamwork. We have 50 exam rooms and 6 trauma bays

RNs work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, Registration, etc. because we are truly in it together!

The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed.

Registered Nurses (RN) can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. Everyone's voice matters

This unit provides staff the ability to learn new skills, improve time management, and be a part of team that is focused on making ED experiences 'Better for Everyone'

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

Essential Functions Of The Role

  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.

  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
  • Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules.
