Job summary

Baylor Scott & White - Lake Pointe Rowlett is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department, a Level 3 trauma center handling approximately 100 patients daily with 20 beds. The role requires 2+ years of ED RN experience, with variable shifts from 9am-9pm, 12pm-12am or 1pm-1am and a rotating weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum of 2 years of true, recent Emergency Department RN experience.
• RN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; TNCC and ENPC preferred or obtained within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed clinical assessments and develop/adjust care plans.
• Delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies.
• Educate patients and families; document learning needs and outcomes.
• Coordinate with colleagues and community to ensure safe, efficient care delivery.

Patient Population: Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric | Fast Paced, high volume environment

Patient Ratios: 1:4-5

Number of Beds: 20

Evening shifts: Vary 9am-9pm, 12pm-12am, 1pm-1am | 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks. Friday/saturday counts for nights, Saturday/sunday counts for days.

Experience: Candidates MUST have minimum of 2yrs of true, recent Emergency Department RN experience

Our Emergency Department unit is a Level 3 trauma center, Chest pain accredited centre, stroke receiving centre, average 100 patients per day, around 20-30 EMS ambulances per day.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.

• As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.

Qualifications

• Grad of Accredited Program

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain with (30) thirty days of hire or transfer
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or obtain within (18) eighteen months of hire or transfer
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or obtain within (18) eighteen months of hire or transfer
