Description:The position is in a 16-bed observation unit for non-admitted patients.This unit is separate from the main emergency department.The average RN to patient ratio is 1:6 during both day and night shifts.Staff members will handle various patient cases requiring emergency care.There will be a focus on multidisciplinary support, including respiratory services and social services.Candidates should have experience with trauma and emergency care, including the management of critical care issues.Core skills should include intubation, IV management, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.The traveler will primarily work in this observation unit but may have opportunities for cross-training.Make-up shifts will be scheduled for any missed weekend shifts.Attendance policies are strict, with re-scheduling for missed shifts.Provide care for a diverse population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to ensure high-quality patient care.Must adhere to safety protocols and manage situations involving mental health crises.Professional development and training modules will be completed pre-start and annually.
