Job summary

Responsibilities

• Adhere to protocols and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Be prepared for float within the unit and weekend/holiday coverage.

Description:Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse for night shifts.The contract duration is for 13 weeks.The position requires working 3 night shifts of 12 hours each week. A minimum of 3 years experience in an emergency department is required. Travel experience is necessary, but first-time travelers with extensive experience may also be considered. Experience with the EPIC charting system is mandatory. Candidates must hold an active state RN license along with BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI, and TNCC certifications. The nurse will work with varied patient diagnosis, including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, and trauma. Special equipment used in this unit includes Belmont, Giraffe warmer, rapid infuser, and Lucas for cardiac arrests. The average daily census is approximately 140 with a bed capacity of 46. This role requires flexibility for floating within the specialty when needed. Weekend shifts will be scheduled every other weekend, and holiday coverage will be necessary as scheduled. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4, which may increase to 5 with lower acuity patients. The role will require managing a wide range of emergencies, including respiratory issues, cardiac arrest, and other critical conditions. Candidates should be adept in various emergency skills, including intubation, central line management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Strong candidates will display proficiency in managing violent behavior and caring for patients with mental health conditions.
