Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff seeks an experienced RN - ER to join a trauma-focused emergency department on a 13‑week contract. You will work day shifts in a 48-bed center that can flex to 62 beds, with 1:4 ratios for regular ED patients.

Candidates must have a valid RN license, ACLS/BLS/PALS, Level 2 trauma experience, and 3+ years in ER care. You may float to affiliate facilities and handle high-acuity emergencies including gunshot wounds and acute psychosis.

Qualifications

• Level 2 trauma experience required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Ability to float within hospital or to nearby facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage dysrhythmias, start IVs, and provide continuous IV sedation.
• Care for ventilated patients and monitor isolation precautions.
• Handle high-acuity emergencies including gunshot wounds and acute psychosis.
• Maintain patient ratios of 3–4 in regular ED scenarios.
• Float to affiliate hospitals as needed and support multiple departments.

Description:This position involves working in a trauma center with 48 beds that can flex up to 62 beds using hall beds.Staffing will never exceed a 1:4 ratio for regular emergency department patients.Hold assignments may include a ratio of 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds.The emergency department averages 6.6 behavioral health patients per day.Candidates will be expected to work in various areas within the hospital and potentially at affiliate hospitals as needed.All travelers will be required to float as part of their responsibilities.Key skills include management of dysrhythmias, starting IVs, administering continuous IV sedation, and care of ventilated patients.Knowledge of isolation precautions and usage of CPAP/BiPAP is essential.A proficient understanding of emergency procedures for pediatric and adult patients is required.Candidates must have experience with acute psychosis, gunshot wounds, and other high-acuity emergencies.This role includes the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation administration.
