Job summary

Responsibilities

• Rotating shifts including early mornings; 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Call required for 4-5 days a month
• Weekend shifts required; one weekend every other month
• Floating to other facilities as needed
• Administer conscious sedation and perform procedures (bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD)
• Care for adults and geriatrics; work with interdisciplinary teams
• Compliance with annual requirements; pre-assignment testing/modules required

Description:Candidates with OR PACU experience are needed.The facility is small, and GI lab nurses must be competent in OR PACU and available for on-call duty.Rotating shifts are required, including 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, and 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.Call is required for 4-5 days a month, depending on need.Weekend shifts are also required, with 1 weekend shift every other month, subject to change based on needs.Floating to other facilities is required, if needed.The medication system used is Pyxis & Omnicell.Candidates must have experience in administering conscious sedation, bronchoscopy, circulating, colonoscopy, EGD, inpatient care, and monitoring conscious sedation.Candidates should also be proficient in specimen handling and labeling.The patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.Candidates must be able to float to other units as required.Compliance with annual requirements is necessary.Pre-assignment testing and modules are required for all RNs.Modules are billable, up to 16 hours, and must be completed prior to the start date.Staff will only float to units they are qualified for and performing tasks where competencies have already been documented.Travelers must be located 100 miles from the facilities.
