Piedmont Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This PRN night shift role requires a GA RN license, BLS, and is open to new graduates with 1 year hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (RN).

• New graduates eligible; 1 year hospital experience preferred for PRN.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments including data collection on physical, psychosocial and health history.
• Evaluates developmental age to tailor assessments and education.
• Organizes data into a care plan and identifies expected outcomes.
• Carries out plan of care to achieve outcomes.
• Delivers patient care aligned with the plan and patient needs.
• Oversees activities of ancillary and support staff.
• Identifies teaching opportunities and provides educational resources.

We are looking for positive, self-motivated, engaged and excited for growth individuals to join our team

38 bed Emergency Department that sees on average 160 patients a day that present with various acuities.

We are a primary Stroke and Stemi receiving facility that is able to intervene and administer thrombolytics.

Two helicopter pads on campus for utilization

We have 5 PODs in our department, depending on acuity, is where the patient will be assigned

Behavioral Health Pod

We have Charge nurses, ED Flow Coordinators, Paramedics, ED Techs, PCTs, Mental Health Technicians and Unit Secretaries who work in close collaboration with the ED Providers to provide exceptional care

All staff members must have a BLS to work in this unit

Responsibilities

1. Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial and health history.

2. Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education.

3. Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes.

4. Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.

5. Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs and plan; ensures that the care provided is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment or disability.

6. Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.

7. Identifies teaching opportunities and provides the resources necessary for achieving the educational goals of the patients.

8. Communications issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager and/or physician as appropriate.

9. Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.
