Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center's Emergency Department in Snellville, GA is seeking an RN for part-time days. The ED handles about 160 patients daily with 38 beds and is a Stroke/ STEMI receiving center. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a dedicated ED team and shift-based scheduling.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a recognized nursing program.
  • Georgia state RN licensure in good standing at time of employment.
  • BLS/ACLS or required life-support certifications per ED policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to ED patients from birth through life-span.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
  • Coordinate with ED team to deliver high-quality care and track patient outcomes.
  • Document care accurately in patient records.

Overview RN - Emergency Dept Part Time Days 2 x 12 hour shifts per week, some weekends Piedmont Eastside Medical Center- Emergency Dept Snellville, GA We are looking for positive, self-motivated, engaged and excited for growth individuals to join our team 38 bed Emergency Department that sees on average 160 patients a day that present with various acuities. We are a primary Stroke and Stemi receiving facility that is able to intervene and administer thrombolytics. Two helicopter pads on campus for utilization We have 5 PODs in our department, depending on acuity, is where the patient will be assigned Behavioral Health Pod We have Charge nurses, ED Flow Coordinators, Paramedics, ED Techs, PCTs, Mental Health Technicians and Unit Secretaries who work in close collaboration with the ED Providers to provide exceptional care All staff members must have a BLS to work in this unit

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Essential Functions
  • Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patients physical, psychosocial and health history.
  • Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education.
  • Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes.
  • Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs and plan; ensures that the care provided is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment or disability.
  • Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
  • Identifies teaching opportunities and provides the resources necessary for achieving the educational goals of the patients.
  • Communications issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.

Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
Work Experience
  • No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
  • Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
