Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA is hiring an RN for the Emergency Department. This full-time role offers evenings, 3 x 12-hour shifts (11am–11pm) with a sign-on bonus up to $10,000. Join a high-volume 38-bed ED that treats diverse acuities and collaborates with ED providers for optimal patient outcomes.

Required is RN licensure in Georgia with BLS; new graduates are welcome and career growth is supported by Piedmont’s total rewards and wellness programs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program and active Georgia RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • New graduates welcome; hospital experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments using nursing process.
  • Develop and implement care plans; coordinate care with the ED team.
  • Supervise and support ancillary and support staff in the ED.
  • Document patient care accurately in the EHR and communicate with physicians.

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center- Emergency Dept

Snellville, GA

We are looking for positive, self-motivated, engaged and excited for growth individuals to join our team

38 bed Emergency Department that sees on average 160 patients a day that present with various acuities.

We are a primary Stroke and Stemi receiving facility that is able to intervene and administer thrombolytics.

Two helicopter pads on campus for utilization

We have 5 PODs in our department, depending on acuity, is where the patient will be assigned

Behavioral Health Pod

We have Charge nurses, ED Flow Coordinators, Paramedics, ED Techs, PCTs, Mental Health Technicians and Unit Secretaries who work in close collaboration with the ED Providers to provide exceptional care

All staff members must have a BLS to work in this unit

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBLE FOR:

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial and health history.
  2. Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education.
  3. Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes.
  4. Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  5. Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs and plan; ensures that the care provided is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment or disability.
  6. Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
  7. Identifies teaching opportunities and provides the resources necessary for achieving the educational goals of the patients.
  8. Communications issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager and/or physician as appropriate.
  9. Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.

Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Work Experience
  • No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required
  • Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License. Required and
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
