Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking an Advanced Beginner Clinician RN for the ED. Requires six months of RN experience or successful completion of probationary NC I, Texas RN license, and current BLS. ACLS & PALS/ENPC are also required; TNCC must be obtained within 6 months of hire for non-experienced ED nurses.

The role emphasizes nursing standards per the Texas Nurse Practice Act, care planning, and collaboration with the inter-professional team to support UTMB Health’s goals.

Qualifications

• RN with six months of clinical RN experience or completion of probationary NC I documented on nursing evaluation tool.
• Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Current BLS required.
• Experienced ED nurses must have upon hire; non-experienced ED nurses must obtain within 6 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document daily care of assigned patients.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders in UTMB policies.
• Provide patient/family teaching using Teach-Back and evidenced-based resources.
• Coordinate and prioritize patient care activities; ensure safety and continuity of care.
