Job summary

UTMB Health in Texas seeks an RN with six months of clinical experience or completion of probationary NC I period, documented on nursing evaluation tools. Must hold a current Texas RN license or valid permit to practice, and maintain BLS certification.

ACLS & PALS/ENPC are required, with TNCC to be obtained within 6 months from hire. Experienced ED nurses must have these credentials upon hire; non-experienced ED nurses must obtain TNCC within 6 months of starting employment.

Qualifications

• RN with six months of clinical RN experience or probationary NC I period documented.
• Current Texas RN license or valid permit to practice.
• Current BLS required.
• ACLS & PALS/ENPC required.
• Non-experienced ED nurses must obtain within 6 months from the date of hire.
• TNCC must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care per Nursing Process (assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates).
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Delivers culturally congruent and specialty-appropriate nursing care per UTMB policies.
• Performs routine technical procedures in the assigned specialty area.
• Provides patient/family teaching and health promotion.
• Plans and coordinates patient care activities with inter-professional team.
