Corewell Health’s Farmington Hills Emergency Center seeks an RN to deliver professional nursing care in a Level II trauma setting. You will work nights in a 36-hour weekly schedule, collaborating with physicians, residents, and nurses to assess, plan, implement, and discharge care plans.

Under ANA guidelines, you will engage in patient-family centered care, document education, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing within 5 years if new graduate.
• MI RN license required; BLS/ACLS/TNCC/ENPC certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with Nurse Leader and health-care team to plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge.
• Educate patients and families; document education in health records.

About the unit

This is a 35 bed Emergency Center and Level II Trauma Center. Our Emergency Center services a diverse patient population from both Oakland and Wayne County. Our physical plant includes a 3 bed trauma room, fast track area (Express Care), 2 psychiatric rooms, 2 isolation rooms and an RN Greeter location that initiates a split flow type of patient rooming process. The Emergency Center is staffed by ER Physicians, Residents, Registered Nurses, Emergency Technicians, Unit Secretaries, and Emergency Service Associates.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

• Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
• Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer
• Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years Prefer RN experience. May consider New Graduates
