Job summary
Corewell Health's Big Rapids Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to join the Emergency Center team. The role delivers comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced environment and adheres to ANA standards, the nursing process, and patient-centered collaboration.
Candidates should hold an Associate's in nursing with a Bachelor's within 5 years, and an MI RN license, plus BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications within specified timelines. Full-time, 36 hours weekly, on-site at Big Rapids.
Qualifications
- Associate's in nursing required.
- Bachelor's in nursing required within 5 years.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- BLS within 90 days.
- ACLS within 6 months.
- PALS within 6 months.
- ENPC required within 1 year.
- TNCC required within 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the ANA and by state law.
- Demonstrate competency through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Uphold standards of professional practice including ethical, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, and evidence-based practice.

Big Rapids Emergency Department is a community-based hospital that is part of the Corewell Healthcare System. The Big Rapids ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center. There are 20 places to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for our patients and their loved ones. Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
